UNESCO's Edinburgh World Heritage Site recognises this city's unique and fascinating conjunction of the Old and New Towns. The Edinburgh World Heritage Trust seeks to preserve and improve these historic streetscapes as part of a modern and flourishing city.

- look after Edinburgh's treasures by conserving historic buildings and monuments
