SPEAKERS PREPARE FOR THE DINGER OF DOOM

Submitted by Editor on

Speakers and arrangements finalised for Spurtle's Edinburgh North Eastern & Leith hustings

The six candidates answering questions on 16 April are as follows:

Ben Macpherson – Scottish National Party
Jo Mowat – Scottish Conservative & Unionist Party
Gary Neill – Reform UK
Kate Nevens – Scottish Greens
Liss Owen – Liberal-Democrats
Oliver Thomas – Scottish Labour

Jo Mowat and Gary Neill are candidates in the Edinburgh Central constituency, but will appear on this occasion as proxies for Haris Young and David Lees, both of whom are unavailable on the night.

Mowat and Neill are also list candidates for the Edinburgh East & Lothian region, so attendees will still get to question their would-be representatives.

The meeting is chaired by Charlotte Encombe (Chair of Leith Central Community Council).

Candidates each get up to 4 minutes to introduce themselves at the start, then 2-minutes per question in themed rounds involving questions sent to us in advance and questions from the audience.

Timings will, as usual, be enforced by the Spurtle’s dreaded dinger of doom.

The hustings starts at 7.15pm and concludes at 9.30pm. Disabled access is available – approach a Spurtle team guide to show you the way.

Please bring a (voluntary) cash donation to help us cover our costs for venue hire.
If you can’t attend, or just want to help shape the meeting’s priorities by getting your question in early, kindly email us with a question asap at spurtle@hotmail.co.uk
