NICE DAY FOR A WHITE WEDDING

This rather splendid wedding party made the most of bright and breezy spring weather this afternoon.

Bystanders applauded, taxis honked, and traffic slowed to gawp as the large group processed down Broughton and London Streets before crossing the road and on into the Mansfield Traquair Centre.

FOUR WHEELS FREECYCLED?

 Two children's bikes spotted on East Scotland Street Lane yesterday evening were still there this lunchtime.

A good Samaritan has handed them in at Gayfield Police Station (Gayfield Square), where they are now helping with enquiries.

PRIORITISING SAFETY IN BROUGHTON

Leith Neighbourhood Partnership is seeking input from local residents, workers, students and visitors to help establish up to 20 issues for the Council and Police to focus on during the next three-month period. The idea is to identify outcomes which would make you and your community feel safer.

A maximum of six (divided equally between Leith and Leith Walk Wards) will then be chosen by members of the public at the forthcoming Feeling Safe Community Forum meeting.

A-BOARD IS BERRY SURPRISING

Did you know that vines produce a kind of berry?  

Spurtle didn't, until the arrival of a new design on the A-board outside Villeneuve Wines on Broughton Street (see below).

We applaud theis shop's intermittent forays into Education, but on this occasion were left thirsting for more.
