TASTING NOTES FOR THE LOGICALLY CHALLENGED

Plurium interrogationum is the Latin term for a question containing a disguised or concealed presupposition.

If a person hearing the question mistakenly accepts the presupposition as established fact, then s/he has swallowed a fallacy in one gulp without savouring the complex notes.

Well done, the Botanics!

Staff here are already world leaders in exploring, conserving and explaining the world of plants for a better future.

But this Saturday they’re taking that scientific mission a little further by celebrating plant and human diversity on the Pride Scotia March through the capital.

Good news to start the week!

Cato the Bengal wanderer (pictured right, on the left or right) has returned safe and sound to his home in Broughton Market after an absence of 3 weeks (Breaking news, 25.5.17).

Nobody knows quite where he’s been, why, or with whom, but wherever it was he was well fed.

GENERAL ELECTION BY NUMBERS IN EDINBURGH

GLIMMER OF HOPE IN BROUGHTON

Submitted by Editor on

While Britain woke to news of horror and tragedy this morning, in Broughton there was a glimmer of hope.

The Revd Graham McGeoch had earlier invited Annandale Mosque’s Shaykh Hassan Rabbani to address the congregation at Broughton St Mary’s during their celebration of Pentecost.

Rabbani’s ground-breaking visit attracted a diverse audience – not all regular churchgoers – of over 100.

LEITH WALK CONTRACTOR IN DEEP HOLE

Land Engineering Ltd – the subcontractor responsible for current Leith Walk Phase 4 improvements between Pilrig Street and McDonald Road – has been put into administration.

In a statement issued to stakeholders this evening, Turner & Townsend Infrastructure said:

Having carried out a comprehensive assessment of the company’s financial stability prior to signing the contract, which did not highlight any concerns, this is unexpected and particularly disappointing.
